Meet Shara

Hi I'm Shara... and I'm SO glad that you're here!

A bit about me…

I am a lover of plants. I am fueled by the wind and the stars, by movement and stillness, each infusing me with a deep sense of connection to the natural world. My path has unfolded through many doorways—dance, yoga, plant wisdom, ceremony, and the ancient teachings of the Andes—all of which continue to guide me toward deeper presence, connection, and remembrance.

Dance, movement, and childlike play have always been pathways through which I connect with my body, my spirit, and the world around me. I am naturally drawn to exploring the creative and intuitive weaving together of different movement practices, trusting that each form offers its own unique doorway into healing and self-discovery.

In 2005, I was introduced to Nia, a somatic movement practice that beautifully integrates the Healing Arts, Dance Arts, and Martial Arts. What began as a movement practice soon became a transformative spiritual journey. For seven years, I had the honor of sharing Nia with others as an instructor in Colorado, earning my Nia Blue Belt in 2008. Teaching Nia deepened my understanding of the body as a vessel for expression, healing, and connection, and ultimately guided me toward the path of Yoga.

In 2019, I completed my 200-hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training certification through Yoga Motion Wellness Academy. As a perpetual student and seeker, my exploration of movement and consciousness has continued to unfold. I deepened my practice through Budokon Yoga and Budokon Mobility teacher certifications in 2021 and 2022, respectively.

Alongside movement, my journey has increasingly led me into relationship with the plant world and ancestral wisdom. As a herbal alchemist, I study the properties, energetics, and spirit of plants, cultivating a practice rooted in reverence, reciprocity, and deep listening to the natural world.

I am also a student of the Andean Cosmovision and a Mesa carrier, walking a path of connection, devotion, and relationship with the sacred traditions of the Andes. As a Cacao Facilitator, I carry the lineage of the Seven Rays through my relationship and teachings with Maestra Jemmita and Maestro Puma Freddy Quispe Singona. These teachings continue to deepen my understanding of ceremony, sacred connection, and the heart-opening wisdom of Cacao.

For me, movement, plants, and Ceremony are all expressions of the same essential inquiry: how might we become more deeply connected to ourselves, one another, and the living world? I continue to follow this path with curiosity, reverence, and a sense of wonder, allowing each practice to reveal new layers of healing, awareness, and embodied wisdom.

When I'm not immersed in movement and stillness practices, you may find me in the Ceremony of Life - conversing with plants and trees, nurturing plants and gathering wild herbs, studying the language and wisdom of the natural world, honing my skills with the frame drum, or relishing moments in nature with my loved ones.
